About Sun Prairie Youth Hockey Association:
SUN PRAIRIE GROUNDHOGS
Founded in the early 1970s, the Sun Prairie Youth Hockey Association (SPYHA) is a not-for-profit organization providing hockey opportunities for the Sun Prairie community. SPYHA is a member of the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) and USA Hockey.

Beginning on outdoor ice at Wetmore Park, SPYHA grew with the construction of the Sun Prairie Ice Arena in 1978 and purchased the facility in the early 1990s. Today, SPYHA serves approximately 400 families, offering youth and adult programs, including women’s and girls’ hockey. With over 250 youth on traveling teams and additional learn-to-skate and learn-to-play programs, SPYHA remains committed to developing players and fostering a positive hockey experience.
