Frozen Fest: 78th Annual Groundhog Day Prognostication!

Join us in Cannery Square to celebrate the Sun Prairie Groundhog Prognostication on February 2nd! Jimmy the Groundhog has an extremely high accuracy rate on his annual predictions, making him an outstanding leader in meteorological circles. Businesses and organizations throughout the City of Sun Prairie will be offering many Groundhog Day specials too!

Embrace the magic of winter at Frozen Fest, Sun Prairie’s annual winter festival filled with frosty fun for all ages! From January 28 – February 2, 2026, enjoy a week packed with 14+ free and low-cost events happening indoors and outdoors throughout the city. From ice skating and cozy gatherings to family activities and community traditions, there’s something for everyone. The festival culminates with Sun Prairie’s beloved Groundhog Day prognostication, where Jimmy the Groundhog delivers his famous weather prediction!
