Make Music Day on June 21st, 2026!

Originating in France as the Fête de la Musique in 1982, Make Music Day takes place on June 21st every year worldwide. Over 1,000 cities across the world will gather to celebrate the joys of music through performances, activities, and parades.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All activities are free and open to the public.
